How to Halloween

WITH MONTARNA AND PARKER PITT

Halloween is one of our favourite seasonal holidays, and it’s even more fun now our daughter Parker can join in the fun.

She follows family tradition and dresses like a pumpkin (our dog has been wearing her pumpkin outfit every October since she was a pup) and I style our home with pumpkins, squash, and autumn greenery.

I try and shop local for all our Halloween treats and this year I stocked up at Royal Randwick’s Harris Farm Markets and Woolworths.

Our house is right in the heart of Paddington and we love dressing up and sitting out front on Halloween to dish out candy and spot everyone’s outfits. We have a big family lunch first, as there’s nothing worse than a toddler with an empty stomach surrounded by sugar, and then get in to the Halloween vibes in our orange outfits.

My daughter Parker’s at the age where she can decorate a pumpkin too. A tip for parents of young kids – encourage them to paint or draw on their pumpkins, much safer and less messy than carving!
