Visit the Pop-Up Library on the ground floor opposite Harris Farm for daily themed activities, creative workshops, and great giveaways.
Monday 28 July – Children's Activities & Toy Library Day
Start the week with stories, creativity and play! This day is packed with fun for little ones, from storytimes and bilingual readings to craft, sensory play, and a hands-on Toy Library showcase.
- 10am–12pm: Storytimes every half hour, plus Little Bookworm yarn craft
- 1pm–2pm: Bilingual Storytime in English and Mandarin
- 2pm–3pm: Sensory play
- 3pm–5pm: Craft zone with Yarn Birds, Pipe Cleaner Rings and Origami
All day: Toy Library showcase, write a message for the Library Lovers Tree, Story trail with activity passports
Tuesday 29 July – Makerspace & Young Adults Day
A hands-on day of creativity, tech and pop culture for teens and the young at heart. Get curious with 3D printing, test out VR, take home a laser-cut creation, and finish the day with anime and snacks.
- 10.30am: 3D Scanning Demo
- 11am–12pm: VR headset experience
- 12:30pm–2:30pm: Green screen photo booth – Read Around the World
- 2.30pm–3.30pm: VR headset experience

Wednesday 30 July – Collection Day & Author Talk
Celebrate the heart of the library – our collections, our readers, and the many ways libraries connect us. Enjoy interactive games, discover something new on our shelves, and end the day with a special author talk.
All day: Skills challenges with prizes
- Fairground Target Game: land three beanbags in the same cup to win the matching book
- Library Quiz Map: answer questions about the library and enter a raffle draw
- Guess the Book: follow clues to identify a mystery title
- 6.30–7.30pm: Author talk with Jane Caro (bookings required)
Thursday 31 July – Tech & eResources Day
Explore the digital world your library card opens. Every hour introduces a new app, platform, or feature, from streaming films and reading comics to listening to audiobooks or flipping through Vogue. Whether you're tech-savvy or just curious, this showcase will help you unlock free access to entertainment, education and discovery across every screen in your life.
- 11am–12pm: Guess That Audiobook – Play and win great prizes.
- 12pm–1pm: Winter Watchlist: Stream and Snack - Watch clips, grab some popcorn and sip something warm while discovering how to stream movies free with your library card
- 1pm–2pm: Hoopla Comics Challenge – Can you finish the scene or name the character? Decode comic panels and unlock a new world of digital graphic novels.
- 2pm–3pm: Flip and Browse: Your Digital Newsstand - Explore a rich collection of magazines and newspapers, from fashion to fitness, travel to tech, right on your screen.
- 3pm–4pm: Talk Like a Pirate: Learn a phrase in Pirate using Mango Languages and walk away with a coin or sticker for your buccaneer vocabulary.
All day: Tech Tune-Up: Device Drop-In – One-on-one help installing apps and customising your device to unlock the best of your library card.
Friday 1 August – Seniors & Home Library Service Day
A welcoming day for older adults, carers and Home Library Service clients. Try out some new tech, enjoy relaxed games and creative activities, and explore all the services available to support lifelong learning and social connection.
- 10am–12pm: Virtual Reality (VR) demo – seated, senior-friendly headset games
- 12pm–4pm: Open Makerspace demos and 3D printer demo – "Guess the 3D print" and win a special prize
All day: Home Library Service and Seniors Programs showcase with art and games corner
All day: Community Languages and Learning English resource display
All Week Highlights:
- Little Library Creatures Trail: Kids can follow a fun sea creature trail through the centre and win a prize.
- Giant Library Card Photo Frame: Snap a pic, tag @RandwickCityLibrary, and show your library card to receive a free tote bag.
- Library Lovers Tree: Share what you love about the library on our community message tree.
